Primary Bedroom

Approximate Size and location:

  • Size 16×20? (Texas is 20×15. Aurora is 15×16 with a 12×12 retreat.)

Furniture/fixtures to accommodate:

  • King bed, 30″ nightstands, bench at foot of bed. (12Wx11L overall)
  • 2-chair seating area to the side, but where fireplace/TV is viewable.
  • (If fireplace), then it would be across from bed, inconspicuous TV wiring/power (may not be used), low-ish mantle, no hearth.
  • Bookshelves either side of fireplace
  • (Hopefully a wall for a 18×72 dresser. We have a chest of drawers as well, if it will fit.)

Morning Area

  • If space allows, a morning area that accommodates an under-counter beverage fridge, filtered-water bar sink, lower drawers for tea bags, coffee pods, supplements, and some upper cabinets to each side of sink. Counter would accommodate an electric kettle and small coffee maker.

  • Switches on both sides of bed, in addition to doorway. Double on each side (lamps and overhead?)

  • Sconces over dresser/mirror.

IN-WALL PREP

  • Blocking for drapery
  • Blocking for (future) handrails, lower towel bars
  • Sound-proofing

WINDOW areas

  • Impact glass for security?
  • Blocking for drapery rods.
  • Low-voltage for remote blinds.
  • Sills at table height.

Ceiling Fan(s)?

  • Switches on both sides of the bed, in addition to doorway.
  • Remote control.

Possible morning kitchen if there is space.
