I’m hoping for multiple layers of lighting. We both like rooms to be fitted to be bright, even if the overall paint scheme is a bit moody. So, I plan to use recessed lighting in addition to central fixtures. Where appropriate, I want to put sconces. Adequate floor outlets will be needed for the open spaces so lamps can be used on end tables and sofa tables. In main spaces and Kendall’s office, I’d like to consider art lighting.

I want appropriate structure in the ceiling of most, if not all, rooms to support ceiling fans. I think I want fans in the secondary bedrooms. But I also want distinctive lighting so I’m considering fandeliers.
